Mister Hornet DDH (Cornet Obolensky x Quarnac du Mesnil x Billy de Baugy)
The sire of the Selle Francais bred Mister Hornet DDH needs no further introduction. After a very successful career with Marco Kutscher, Cornet Obolensky (Clinton x Heartbreaker) produced one top jumper after another as a breeding stallion. Cornet d'Amour, Cornado I, Coree, Cornet du Lys, Comme il Faut, the list of GP horses is endless. With approved sons such as the already mentioned Comme il Faut, Cornet du Lys, Balou du Reventon and Maestro van de Bisschop, he has already lived up to his name as a hallmark stallion.
What makes Mister Hornet extremely interesting is the combination of Cornet Obolensky with a fantastic French dam line. His dam Arnacquine du Mesnil jumps at 1.40 level in America and gave a 1.30 horse. Her sire is the Jarnac son Quarnac du Mesnil, successful at 1.50 level. Mister Hornet's grandmother, a daughter of 1.40 horse Billy de Baugy, gave several international jumpers including Kysia du Mesnil who was successful at GP level. The direct dam line also produced the GP horses Gran Mamut, Azilis du Mesnil, Bugatti du Lys and the approved stallion Django du Lys.
Mister Hornet typifies himself as a very cooperative stallion with a great attitude. His canter is light-footed with a lot of balance. On the jump he shows a fantastic technique with excellent body use and is very fast off the ground. This combined with his carefulness and unlimited scope makes him a very complete show jumper. During the KWPN performance test he received fantastic marks including a 9 for his talent as a jumper.
